I would recommend this to a friend!
"Good drive but sometimes fails to write some DVD's, still reading CD's and DVD's and writing some DVD's, the drive it's extremely reliable, i bought the drive 3 years ago and still working."
Pros: Inexpensive, Durable, Lightweight
Cons: not the best

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
"the drive fails to perform, writing is hoorible and sometimes it even fails to read DVD discs. dual layer writing is strictly forbidden as i have encountered a 100%failure rate. why samsung markets such duds beats me, they have such a fine range of products. the DVD writers are a failure with samsung, they should seriously look into thier quality part"

"I have Samsung DVD Writer SH-S223F, Now can't CD or DVD write and cannot eject disk tray, slow PC, and blink writer indicate bulb"
